Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ (Tmier /jij̼/ [molecule] [doll]) is a subtropical Town located in the Suamaga County of the Picham Community.
The name Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ was founded by Dygzoth Wynney, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 26°C (78°F). Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ receives an average of 250 cm/y (98 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 4282 m (14048 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1358, by Dygzoth Wynney. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Dygzoth Wynney.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ is is constructed arround a series of narrow cobblestone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The brittle defences has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.
Looking around Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ you immediately realise that the locals are looking back at you. All of them. Everywhere you look somone is staring back at you analytically, looking over every inch of you, your gear, and your companions. As you get close to people, their hands move closer to their belt knife, or dagger. You may want to watch where you go and what you say...
Civic Infrastructure
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼'s public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼ has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.
Odíhg Tmieriēiy̼'s chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
